Union bar (walking distance from Urban hotel 17 minutes): is a pub run by Ljubljana’s Pivovarna Union brewery, where beer has been brewed since 1867. The much-anticipated opening of the pub took place on the 150th anniversary of the brewery’s foundation.
Pivnica Kratochwill (walking distance from Urban hotel 10 minutes): is a pub well known for brewing its own beer. Its specialty beers range from yeast and seasonal beers to champagne-style beer. The brewery has received several international awards for its beers.
Guinness pub (walking distance from Urban hotel 8 minutes): offers a diverse choice of beers, whiskeys, and cocktails, as well as a wide selection of bottled wines. Apart from drinks, it also serves typical bar snacks such as chicken wings, French fries, and sandwiches. It shows all major sporting events, in the summer on a big screen set up in its atrium, located in an enclosed inner courtyard.
Pivoljub (distance from Urban hotel 3 km): was the first specialist beer shop to open its doors in Ljubljana. Its extensive range of products on offer includes more than 200 quality English beers and ciders, the best craft beers from Belgium (Trappist and Abbey beers, among others), Scotland, the Netherlands, the United States, and Bavaria, and craft beers made by Slovenian microbreweries. The range of beers is constantly being expanded with seasonal and exclusive limited edition beers. Apart from beer, the shop also stocks an interesting assortment of gift items and original pint glasses.
Sir William’s Pub (walking distance from Urban hotel 6 minutes): located in the Art Nouveau part of Ljubljana city centre, offers more than 120 beer varieties and a large choice of teas and wines. It is vibrant in the evenings, particularly when it hosts themed events and beer tastings, while during the day it has a more coffee house-like atmosphere, offering its guests an opportunity to browse through a newspaper or read a book in peace.
