Slovenia has been named as the Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year 2015 by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators. The country boasts 13 golf courses, including 2 in the immediate vicinity of the capital.
Diners Golf & Country Club Ljubljana (distance from Urban hotel 21 km): it is well known for its modern design and flat terrain without trees or other natural obstacles, which allows extremely dynamic play. Its longest hole, No. 2, is 519 metres for gentlemen and 465 metres for ladies.
Golf Brdo golf course (distance from Urban hotel 34 km): located next to the Brdo Castle complex, which is used for state visits and ceremonial occasions. The course is ideal for relaxed recreational play or an introduction to the world of golf.
Golf Arboretum (distance from Urban hotel 25 km): the golf course next to the Volčji Potok Arboretum, Slovenia’s largest park, presents a challenge for experienced golfers, but is also suitable for beginners. In addition to an 18-hole course, there are four practice fields.
Golf course Trnovo (distance from Urban hotel 33 km): is a public golf course, the first of its kind in Slovenia. No official membership card or golf licence is required. A practice field and various tuition courses are available for beginners. The course is also suitable for highly experienced golfers. The most challenging are holes No. 2, 3 and 6.
Golf Grad Otočec Golf course (distance from Urban hotel 74 km): is situated next to the famous Otočec Castle, in scenic surroundings by the river Krka. Making for interesting play on relatively easy greens and offering beautiful views of the surrounding woods, it is considered to be one of the best golf courses in Slovenia.
